About

I completed my first sculpture in 1978.  At first, my sculptures were made entirely from wood. Circa 1995, I attended a course in glass sculpture at the Ontario College of Art and began to incorporate glass and rock.

Time and life’s stresses allowing, I continued to sculpt on and off.  After retirement, my output increased considerably.  I now complete one or two sculptures each year.  Out of storage space, I put a price on my sculptures for the first time in 2021.

Encouraged by friends, I entered my first juried art show (Newmarket Art Show) in 2020 and won an award for best sculpture.  Building on my success, I’ve entered six more juried art shows (at least one each year, depending on show conflicts). These include Ontario Society of Artists, J.B. Aird Gallery, Newmarket Art Show and Echoes for Women’s Art of Canada and the Latcham Art Centre.  In the 2021 Newmarket Art show, I entered three sculptures, two of which were selected for display of which one was nominated best sculpture.  Echoes was an international show, displayed in Toronto.  My sculpture was among fifty artworks that were displayed from among over four hundred entries.
